FIFA WORLD CUP 2018 | Quarterfinals

The world cup is on the verge of getting over and the 8 teams who got through the round of 16 into the quarters put up a valiant fight against one another.

The match ups were as the following: Sweden v England, Russia v Croatia, Uruguay v France and Brazil v Belgium.

The host country representatives, Russia put up a show to watch with their equalizer in the 115’ minute, which led to penalty shootouts. In which Croatia barely managed to triumph over Russia.

Even the England v Sweden match drew considerable amounts of attention to it, as 2 of their respective countries finest players set up a bet with one another. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Beckham, both of who are iconic names in the history of football took to instagram wagering on who will win the match.
The stakes being; if Sweden were to win, David Beckham would personally take Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Ikea to get him any and all the furniture he needs for his LA mansion. But, if England were to win Zlatan would have to go to England to watch an England game at Wembley Stadium while wearing an England jersey and enjoying some fish & chips.

The result being Sweden’s loss and Englands win, Zlatan has agreed to fulfill his side of the bet!

Not only that, but Uruguay, who had only conceded once before in their game against Portugal ended up losing 0-2 to France, one coming from a sensational header from Raphael Varane their Center back and the other with a long shot from Griezmann, and sloppy goal keeping from the Uruguay goalkeeper Muslera.

The representatives of last years world cup, Brazil also lost to Belgium in a 2-1 loss. The own goal they made changed the flow of the game entirely.

With the world cup coming to an end, we have merely 4 more matches left.
