Juliet, Naked is a 2018 British-American comedy-drama film which is based on Nick hornby’s novel of the same name. It centers on the story of Annie (Rose Byrne) who is stuck with her unlikely transatlantic romance with once revered, now faded singer-songwriter Tucker Crowe (Ethan Hawke), who is also the subject of her boyfriend’s (Chris O’Dowd) long-time music obsession. Annie’s character is described as “the saddened, sweet-souled” who however has a persona one cannot miss.
The plot builds as the acoustic demo of Tucker’s hit record from 25 years ago surfaces, its release leads to a life-changing encounter with the elusive rocker himself. It’s a comic account of life’s second chances.
It is also said to be a gently winning romantic comedy (romcom), all keyed to a delightful note of indie rock obsession. It’s exactly the sort of movie you want to see at Sundance. The movie also shows hints of struggle to keep the flame burning , whether it be career related or love life.
The movie will sweep one of their feets as it’s a different angle that’s come in picture with hints romedy and flashbacks of past bonds.
